The Academic Council is committed to nurturing the next generation of water leaders. We work closely with IIW’s academic programs to ensure that students receive comprehensive and up-to-date education in water management, preparing them to address the challenges of the future

Role & Purpose:

The Academic Council at IIW plays a pivotal role in the academic governance of the institute. It is responsible for upholding the institute’s academic standards, ensuring the quality and relevance of its programs, and guiding its research pursuits in line with the latest global water challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Reviewing and updating the academic curriculum to ensure it remains current, comprehensive, and globally relevant.
  • Research Guidance: Directing and supporting water-related research endeavours, fostering partnerships with international research institutions.
  • Faculty Appointments: Overseeing the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of faculty members.
  • Student Welfare: Addressing academic grievances, overseeing student mentorship programs, and ensuring a conducive learning environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Implementing and monitoring quality assurance mechanisms for academic and research activities.
